The Nuggets start the season on the road against the New Orleans Pelicans. Denver’s start to the season isn’t easy with 6 out of their first 7 games on the road.

The first time Denver fans’ will see Paul Millsap in a Denver Nuggets’ uniform is on October 29th which marks the first home game. They will take on the Portland Trailblazers. The Nuggets longest home stand is 4 games which happens twice. Those occur from November 16th through the 22nd as well as March 4th to March 10th.

Every NBA team must have a long road trip during the season. The Nuggets are no exception. They will embark on a 6 game road trip from December 3rd to the 12th. During that journey they will face Utah, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Washington, Orlando, and Dallas. The NBA All-Star weekend is from February 17th to the 19th. It will be at the Staples Center. Denver won’t resume play until the 23rd.

The toughest part for the Nuggets will be back-to-back games. They play a game in one city and once that is over, hop on a plane to get ready to play the next night. Denver has a total of 10 of those including finishing the season in Dallas and Oklahoma City.

Besides opening night there are a few games to look forward to. The Nuggets host the defending champion Golden State Warriors on November 10th and February 13th. The Cleveland Cavaliers are going to invade the Pepsi Center on March 22nd. It will be the only time during the year LeBron James will be in Denver.

These are a few of the highlights to the season. The Nuggets are hoping to make the playoffs for the first time since the 2013 season. If they fail to make the postseason, it marks the 5th straight year that there won’t be playoff basketball in Denver.
